Starbucks is Seattle's most famous coffee chain. The first Starbucks opened in 1971 at the Pike Place Market. It was founded by Gordon Bowker, Jerry Baldwin, and Zev Siegel. They named their new store after Starbuck, a charecter in Moby Dick. It was first a shop that only sold coffee beans. Only later did they start to sell drinks.

Today they can be found all over the world and all over Seattle. There are dozens of these coffee stores around the city. You don't have to travel far to find one.
