The Seattle area and the Northwest in general both provide great opportunities for all kinds of mountain biking, from short rides in the many parks to longer rides on the 100s of trails in the surrounding National Forests and private tree farms. Unfortunately mountain bikes are not permitted in the area's large Wilderness areas.
If you want to ease into mountain biking, Backcountry Bicycle Trails Club (BBTC) offers a fun Mountain Bike Boot Camp class.
