Lake City was annexed by the City of Seattle in 1954. There is some confusion over the borders, but it is generally accepted that the "Lake City Area" or "Northeast District" is everything east of 15th Avenue NE, north of 95th, west of Lake Washington, and south of 145th. The Lake City Area / Northeast District contains the following neighborhoods: Olympic Hills, Cedar Park, Victory Heights, Meadowbrook, and Matthews Beach.
The area roughly within the boundary of 28th Ave NE, NE 130th street, 35th Ave NE, and NE 120th street has been defined a "Hub Urban Village" as part of the City of Seattle's Comprehensive Plan.
