The Chinatown/International District neighborhood lies south of Pioneer Square and First Hill, roughly between Yesler, 4th Ave S, S Dearborn St, and I-5. It has a largely Asian-American population, including Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Thai, and Vietnamese. Here you can also find many restaurants of different regional Asian couisines. It is also home to a very large Asian supermarket, Uwajimaya (see Specialty Supermarkets).

Don't pass up the opportunity to stop by the Family Shelter on 5th and King st. You can volunteer or give donations or even just tour the building.

The International District/Chinatown community center offers activities and classes for kids and adults, such as sports, martial arts, and yoga, as well as a meeting space and public computers.
