"The Eastside" is an informal collective term for the Eastern suburbs of Seattle. These Eastside cities are on the shores of Lake Washington:

These are not on Lake Washington, but are generally considered Eastside cities:

Some would also include the more easterly towns of Monroe, Fall City, Duvall, and Carnation in this list.

The Eastside has a distinct socio-political identity from Seattle, generally being more conservative as evidenced by the 2004 Presidential election results and its preponderance of Republican legislators at the state and national level.
