Metro Transit route 2 serves the neighborhoods of West Queen Anne, Uptown, Belltown, Downtown, First Hill, and Madrona Park. It runs frequently on weekdays and weekends. During peak hours on weekdays, it makes limited stops in Belltown. Electric trolley buses are used often on route 2.

Route 2 terminates on West Queen Anne, close to Mt. Pleasant Cemetary on W Raye Street and 7th Ave W. It follows W McGraw Street, 6th Avenue W, W Galer Street, and Queen Anne Avenue N.

It makes several stops close to Seattle Center along Queen Anne Avenue N (when southbound), or along 1st Avenue N (when northbound).

Route 2 follows 3rd Avenue through Belltown and Downtown, and turns onto Spring Street (when eastbound) (or along Seneca Street when westbound). It follows Seneca Street and Union Streets through First Hill. It follows 34th Avenue, E Denny Way, Grand Avenue, and Madrona Drive through Madrona Park.

Route 2 terminates on Madrona Drive at Lake Washington Boulevard, on the shore of Lake Washington, before following the route back to West Queen Anne.

Route 2 stops close to Seattle Public Libary Central Library as well as the Madrona-Sally Goldmark Branch. It stops close to Virginia Mason Hospital and The Poly Clinic. It stops close to Seattle University. It stops close to Freeway Park.
